Ann serves as an Amicus coordinator in the U.S. Division 4 representing Central states including Arkansas, Colorado, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Wyoming. Ann's journey with Amicus International Student Exchange began in 2010 when her family hosted an Amicus student from Spain. Shortly after hosting, she herself became an Amicus mentor, serving kids from Poland, Spain, Norway and Germany, who were placed in Colorado. In 2015, having moved into the role of Division 4 coordinator, she began helping other Amicus mentors in Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Texas and Arizona.

Ann loves the vision of Amicus and knows her years working with Youth With a Mission (YWAM), helped cultivate her world perspective and love for other cultures. Even though her imp
act on the world now takes place mostly by investing in the students who come to her, she still's able to enjoy international adventures from time to time.  Here she is pictured visiting her daughter who lives in Queenstown, New Zealand. Ann and her husband, Jim, have three kids, all of whom will be involved in international missions this year in Sweden, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and Ecuador.

Dorette serves as Amicus coordiantor for the DACH Region in Europe (Germany, Switzerland, Austria, German speaking parts of Romania and Liechtenstein.) Dorette is a fully homegrown Young Life Amicus woman. Being an exchange student in Kansas City, Missouri (2007-08) she learned: it’s all about the people! Although Missouri might not be considered the most exciting place in the world, her year was amazing becuase of all the people she became friends with. After her Amicus year, Dorette stayed involved in Young Life at home in Germany — first as an intern, then as a volunteer and now she has been on staff for three and a half years. She has been the DACH Amicus coordinator for two years. Dorette’s passion is to help students re-enter after their time in the U.S. Her heart is to equip teenagers, but also to help them find community and find strength in their faith in God. Dorette has been married for four years to Kornelius, also a former Amicus student, and has been living in the beautiful city of Munich for almost nine years.

Dana serves as Amicus Division Coordinator overseeing the Northern US states including Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and the Dakotas. Dana's Amicus adventure began when she, husband John and two daughters moved to Minnesota in 2002. They opened their home and hearts to their first of five Amicus daughters hailing from the Dominican Republic, Sweden, Portugal and Germany. Each experience was as unique as each daughter. But, the one thing that was in common is that God was in the midst of the entire year. Everyone involved grew and learned new things about themselves and who they were in Christ. Through the years Dana has transitioned from being a host mom to a mentor/rep and then a division leader. She enjoys being a part of a ministry that has an international impact for Christ.

Sue serves as an Amicus Division Coordinator overseeing Amicus on the East coast - any state in the Eastern Time Zone!  Sue loves the ministry of Young Life! Sue began working with Amicus in 2006 and especially enjoys mentoring kids who come here for an adventurous year filled with fun and discovery. Sue recently expressed, “Sharing life with them is the best part, while walking alongside of them as they go!” Along the way, Sue and her family have hosted studetns from Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic and Chile. Family is important and it’s an incredible privilege to merge family with Young Life Amicus. In 1980, Sue spent a year as an exchange student to Norway. Lisa serves as the Amicus Division Coordinator over the Western States from Washington down to New Mexico and everything in between!  The Pooler family found one of Young Life's best-kept ministry secrets, Amicus, in 2001. Lisa, her husband, Ted, and their children Megan and Steven, welcomed their first Amicus daughter, Oktawia, from Poland that year. They have since added sons, Nathan, from Belgium and Audun, from Norway, two German daughters, Claudia and Louise-Verena, Danish daughter Miriam and another Polish daughter, Misia, to their family. Their hosting experiences are always a joy and through them God has taught them all something new.

In January 2002, while they were hosting a girl from Poland, Lisa was invited to attend the annual Amicus Reps conference to "see what Amicus reps do" to serve international teens. During the last 17 years as a rep and in recent years as a Division 3 coordinator with Amicus, Lisa has been blessed to come alongside many other amazing teens from Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium, Sweden, Spain and Norway. Watching as they mature through challenges and develop or strengthen their faith in the Lord is a privilege — who wouldn't love this opportunity?!
